Lecture To Build Pride In The Garden State

In an effort to counter the all too often"You're from Jersey, what exit?" joke and, of
course, others, the creator-presenter of Memory Lane Presentations, a unique,
nostalgia- oriented lecture service, Rick Busciglio, has created a presentation titled
" New Jersey's Famous."

Did you know, for instance, that Tom Cruise got the acting bug when he attended
Glen Ridge High School , or that Shaq O'Neal first played basketball on the
playgrounds in Newark, or that Danny DeVito studied hair dressing in Newark? Using
the latest audio, video projection and computer graphic tools, the presentation
salutes some of the greatest Jerseyites from many fields. Each celebrity included
had to be either born, raised or settled in NJ.

The very varied list includes Jack Nicholson, Thomas Edison, Frank Sinatra, Albert
Einstein, Derek Jeter, Shaq O'Neal, President Woodrow Wilson, Paul Robeson, Charles
Lindbergh, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Susan Sarandon, President Grover
Cleveland, Meryl Streep, Count Basie, Bon Jovi, Jerry Lewis, Bruce Willis and many
more.

The presentation is designed to be both entertaining and informative. Interactivity
with the audience is a major part of the lecture. My goal is to raise awareness to the
great contributions ˜Jerseyites" have made, not only in our wonderful, but much
magligned state, but in the world. Or, as musician John Pizzarelli has said of Frank
Sinatra , "He showed us Jersey guys (and gals) that anything is possible."

Rick Busciglio is a retired broadcast executive (vp marketing for a cable and satellite
network in the US and the UK, radio and TV host, and television advertising
executive) who has combined his life-long of love of films and music and experience
in communications to create a series of mostly nostalgic audio and video programs
(or lectures) that he presents in the NJ/NY/PA tri-state area and internationally to the
cruise community.

Many of the presentations include stories of the many famous people he worked
with or met over the years...such as Cary Grant, Bob Hope, Rosemary Clooney, Frank
Sinatra and his favorite, Miss Piggy.

Rick has hosted PBS television and radio pledge drives in Virginia and , most
recently in April, 2004 on NJN, the New Jersey PBS TV network.
